Team CAHA (Carolina Amateur Hockey Association)
North and South Carolina's
Women's C Ice Hockey team
Mission Statement -

Team CAHA is a North and South Carolina wide Women's district-bound C Team.
Since this team is being organized by CAHA, the main objective is to promote and
develop women’s hockey in our region. As well as to create a strong network
between the local organizations which helps create more opportunities for female
hockey players by working together to support and establish women's teams and
events (tournaments, clinics etc).

Team CAHA will not be entering any local tournaments in the affiliation. The
reasoning behind that is if we have players from each location (Charlotte,
Columbia, Charleston, Wilmington, Greensboro and Raleigh) this team will only
weaken teams that are fighting for players already.

The goal of this team is to provide a opportunity for players that want to
experience competitive hockey at the C level and the district tournament(hopefully
the National tournament as well). A requirement to be eligible for the district
tournament is that the team must play 14 games and each player must participate
in 10 games.

recently we have had two of our member organizations competing at the district
tournament. However in 2009, no organizations were planning on fielding a team
and we were approached by several women asking us to attempt to pull all the
interested players together and form one statewide team since the numbers were
not strong enough to support local district-bound C teams.

In late October 2009, we hosted open tryouts and selected 17 players to represent
the Carolinas as Team CAHA at the 2010 Southeastern District Tournament. After
each season we will assess the need for a statewide team and hope that eventually
we will see several local organizations fielding teams to compete at the district
level and represent our affiliation.
